We hope and pray that all Bicol University (BU) students who suffered from suffocation during the unfortunate Hataw 2025 colored smoke bomb incident are now in better condition. BU officials must stay true to their word and ensure that the affected students are properly cared for and that their medical needs are addressed—including any potential long-term effects of this traumatic experience.
We welcome the Independent Commission for Infrastructure’s (ICI) announcement that it will livestream its proceedings. We thank the ICI for heeding our call to make its hearings open and transparent.
The Office of the Ombudsman has expressed its full support to the decision of the Bicameral Conference Committee to livestream its proceedings, saying that "it encourages these practices of openness and transparency, as they allow citizens to better understand and engage with the democratic process."
